NOVA Guide to Customs in Türkiye.

We really want to host you some day. When you arrive in Türkiye, you’ll meet the famous Green Channel (nothing to declare) and Red Channel (goods to declare). Here’s the breakdown. We prepared this short guide to help you figure out how the customs work in the country, in case you want to bring a lot, both in and out.

Let’s see when you can walk through the green line.

Provided your items are within the limits, you can exit through Green and declare nothing:

  • 🚬 Cigarettes (600 pcs)

  • 🚬➡️ Cigarillos (100 pcs, each ≤ 3 grams)

  • 🥂 Cigars (50 pcs)

  • 🌿📄🪶 Cut rag tobacco (200 g) + 200 cigarette papers + 250 g pipe tobacco

  • 🍵 Tea (1 kg)

  • ☕ Soluble coffee (1 kg)

  • 🍶 Roasted coffee (1 kg)

  • 🍫 Chocolate, sugar confectionery (max. 2 kg)

  • 🍾 Alcoholic beverages (1 L if >22% alcohol; 2 L if ≤22%)

  • 🌸💧 Eau de cologne, perfumes, lavender, essence, lotions (max. 600 ml total)

  • 💄🧴 Cosmetics (max. 5 items, each ≤ 120 ml)

  • 💊📜 Medicinal products for personal use (reasonable quantity, accompanied by prescription/doctor’s note if needed)

  • 💻 1 Laptop or PC

  • 📱 1 Mobile phone (only once in two calendar years)

  • 🎸 1 Portable musical instrument

  • 🐱🐶🕊️ Cats, dogs, and birds (up to 2 in total, max. 10 of each species, with veterinary health report, vaccination, identification)

  • 🧀🥫🍖 Animal products (10 kg in total — fresh fruits, dried fruits, processed food like canned goods, cheese, pastrami, sausage)

  • 🍎🥦 Fresh fruits and vegetables (3 kg)

  • 🍇🥜 Dried fruits and vegetables (15 kg)

  • 📹📸 1 Video camera + 1 photo camera

  • 🎮🕹️ 1 Electronic game device with cassette or game card

Let’s see when you should declare

You must declare if you’re carrying:

  • Anything exceeding the Green Channel limits

  • Goods subject to customs duties under legislation

  • Goods requiring clearance, authorization, or inspection

  • Prohibited items

Prohibited Items in Türkiye

If You Ask Us

Keep receipts. If you’re bringing in electronics (like laptops or cameras), proof of personal use helps.

Gifts = fine, resale = trouble. Customs doesn’t like side hustles.

Stay green if you can. The Red Channel = paperwork + waiting.

Age matters. No free tobacco or booze under 18.
